Long sandy beach. Hard sand further up, soft sand closer to the water. Extremely crowded on weekends. Better during the week. Be very careful using this beach.

Usually sunny with daily rain showers during summer. Strong sun, make sure to wear sun protection. In winter it can get cold, especially on stronger north winds, then a thin wetsuit or shorty is good. Normally just shorts needed.

North-south beach. Cross shore can get shadowed. Due on shore intermediate or higher only due to needing to ride upwind into waves. Windy season is October to May, rideable wind 1 in 2 or maybe 1 in 3 days, usually 10-14m kites. Outside of windy season very little wind, mostly storm winds with gusts and direction changes.

From Miami drive to Miami South Beach. In South Beach drive north on Collins and get onto the beach anywhere between 21st and 27th Street. Parking fees, 25 cents for 15 min.

Zones

South beach is banned for kitesurfers until this area. Respected kite zone is a small patch at 25th street and then north of 30th. You can't keep your kite up on the sand. You must stay behind the swim buoys. Extremely crowded on weekends. Respect the lifeguards.
