Flat water closer to shore, further out choppy and wind swell. Look out for shallow reefs about 20 meters off shore. There is a reef free channel near the rock jetty. During summer S-SW swells will bring nice waves.

Extra information
The main kite location on Maui's south coast. Many of the other beaches on this side of the island have lifeguards and do not allow kiteboarding. The 11am rule is generally island wide but I have been told by locals that this beach has no rules.
