Westernmost end of Kitebeach Maui. Shallow blue and 8'-12 depth for 1/2 mile out. Sizable waves in winter months which can be ridden from the outside all the way to shore. Works best with a big Northeast swell and trade winds.

From the main Kahului airport, go through and past the rental car return area until you hit a stop sign at Amala Place. Turn left and go 1/2 mile, turn right after you go over the bridge. Action Beach is a portion of Kitebeach, Kanaha Beach Park is there on your right.

Zones, Time

No kiting before 11:00 am. Do not kite near the end of the airport runway. Prepare for strong winds. Know your limits. Several good kiteboarding schools here.

Charlies, Milagro's or Paia Fish Market in Paia. Willy K at Hapa's in Kihei on Tuesday nights. A lot of action over in Lahaina.
