Rocky launch yet some spots are sandy. The water level drops in the winter months so there's a huge beach that is exposed. Downwind there is a good long 1/2 mile shoreline to come into just in case of breakdown or learning. Great place to hunker down in the winter and kite the entire winter season there. Awesome place, no crowds. Head there on the weekends during the summer months, beach may be small in the summer, no one there during the late fall and winter/spring.

Great winter kiting spot. NW and NE winds blow nicely here. It blows at this spot all winter long. afe spot for kiters for North winds or any beginner windsurfer or kiter learning during the winter months. E blows good here but in the summer months the water level goes up high and the beach is quite smaller. SE winds would be strong up there and very steady yet uncrowded during the week and weekend. North winds can be somewhat steady with long gusts coming through. Winds can be mellow and steady while you ride your 13m or 11m to downright windy in the 40's where you can ride your 7m to 9m kite.

Fees

Fees to get into Lake Mead National Recreational area. Camping is free. Great spot to camp and camping is primitive. One restroom there and some nice shade trees and soft sand. Nice quiet place to hunker down.

Nightlife

No nightlife, far from the city. Las Vegas and Laughlin are the closest nightlife destinations. Searchlight is close to Lake Mohave. Just a few motels, old mining town, small grocery store, several gas stations.
