Low tide exposes coral heads as far out as 300 meter. Only kite at high tide! A small lagoon exists and can be a great place to kite at high tides. South end of lagoon has a rock jetty so be aware of your surrounds. If you have a hard time staying up wind wear booties. Coral and sea urchins are very thick in some areas. Watch out for other novice kiters as this spot is notorious for idiots.

Fuwerit is a 2.5k long beach. Motorist Speed on beach with ATVS. Do not leave your lines out. The other side of the lagoon has a kite resort.

Season starts in September when air and water become tolerable. Season end in June when the heat is not tolerable. Shorty is needed October, November, March and April. Full 3mm is needed in December to February.

Almost all the spots in Qatar work best with the prevailing NW wind. It usually comes in 3-4 day bursts. Then it will turn off or become stormy SE for 3-4 days then back to NW. May and June however bring continues strong NW. SE winds can be very smooth wind, but they are less frequent.

95 km North of Doha on the Shamal road. Take the Fuwerit exit. Head East 3 km. Turn North and drive around Village on well established dirt road. Most kiters drive to far south end of the beach to kite on the lagoon of Gulf side.

South end of beach is closed to motorist April to June for turtle nesting.

Nightlife

Bring your own fun and camp at the beach. It is very common camping area so don't expect peace and quiet on the weekends. Set tents near cars and define your camp, as to reduce the chances of reckless ATV riders driving through your camp.
