Flat shallow water (waist deep). Drops off outside the reef marker flags. Hurricanes passing north of island produce some nice surf conditions with right hand breaks.

The beach offers the easiest launching and access to the water. White powder sand, some pebbles, shells and stones. No facilities, but there are kite schools and some beach huts for shade.

It's blowing here in Aruba Northeast all year long, maybe some lighter days in the month of September-November and in the beginning of December. But that only means it won't blow every day over 15 knots. The chance you can kiteboard are always 90%. Don't forget your small kite sizes! Days of 25 knots are quite normal. Offshore winds, therefore it is quiet gusty.

Only in the high season (November until Easter) you need to reserve a rental car. Otherwise there are city buses (L10/L10A) going from downtown to the hotel area and minibuses to any destination. Pack tight as city buses are touchy about stepping aboard carrying luggage. Of course you can rent Scooters, Harleys, Squats/4wheeler, horses, bikes as well. Take the main island highway from the hotel area all the way towards the lighthouse look to your left at the end of the highrise hotel area. Accessible car or taxi, or a 10-minute walk from the last bus stop on Malmok.

There are rules at the Fishermen's Hut. You may kite before 10:00 am and after 4:30 pm. The time between 10 and 4 is for the windsurfing school. There is a sea turtle nesting area north of the launch zone. Water rescue $20 US. Kite school boats make the rounds if the wind dies or you have gear failure.

Moomba Beach Tiki Bar - 1/2 mile beach walk south. Great on Sundays after 9pm. Good any time after a kite session for cold beer and pub food. Downtown Orangestad: Mumbo Jumbo - late night Latin dance, Carlos & Charlies (soon to be Senor Frogs), Friday and Saturday or any time cruise ship is in port, The Paddock (Wednesday), The Bahia (Friday and Saturday).
