If the wind is more northerly, then you can walk north about 300m where there is a shallow bay (more like a kink in the shoreline) and this has some shallower water and a better direction for the wind.

The last couple of km's to the beach is on we'll serviced gravel road. To continue on the track beyond the spot marked you will need a vehicle with good ground clearance. The sand on the beach is soft and deep so best avoided unless you have 4WD, big tires and a winch in case of trouble. You may be ok on the wet sand at low tide, but the sand at the top of the beach is unforgiving.
